Keynes says: "You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink." This quote is true and I believe anyone could say the same. Furthermore, horses in nature lose large amounts of essential minerals in their sweat, and if these are not replaced, an electrolyte imbalance can develop (which is why "salt" is given to entice the horse to drink water).
Reading the Bible, Jesus himself said: "Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves and be at peace with one another." (Mark 9:50-51)

Reading this, I asked myself: "Why is it good? What are the benefits of salt? And what does He mean by the command "have salt in yourselves"?"

In my research, I've seen that salt is fundamental to human life for numerous vital physiological mechanisms, such as the transmission of nerve impulses and blood pressure regulation. It's not just in food, but also in religion, and in economic and social relationships between cultures and countries. Called "the divine substance" by the Greeks, known to the Romans as "white gold," and in the Old Testament, it signifies "wisdom, holiness, incorruptibility, and covenant."

After all the importance of salt, I asked myself: "What could the world be like without salt? How could the world be like without truth and justice (which is equivalent to salt)?"

For this reason, "Jesus stood on the last day, the great day of the feast, and cried out, 'If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'" (John 7:37-38)

It is again: (Gospel of John 4:14) whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up into eternal life."

In conclusion: "We often take things for granted. If there were no salt in the world, there would be no life, only destruction, chaos, and death. Even the Church, guardian of truth, is worthless if it does not bring justice, the image of God on earth. Likewise, anyone who corrupts himself with the world cannot give it flavor, and therefore cannot give the world what it truly needs: the solution."

"THE SPROUT"

Spiderman has always been my favorite superhero, a character who particularly captured my heart, becoming my idol for a good part of my childhood, as happened and still happens to many other children.
This painting particularly represents me: I've always believed that the injustice of this world needed a solution, a superhero, someone people could look up to and make good prevail over evil. But I was looking at things the wrong way, I've experienced it in my own life too, I've searched and searched... but I've found no one equal to Christ and what he did for each of us: descending from his throne of glory, from a place where wickedness and corruption do not exist, he stripped himself of his eternal glory to come to a miserable, arid, and muddy place, of darkness and injustice, to save what was lost, free those in slavery, heal the sick, and give eternal life to those who had none, choosing to grow up in poverty, be born in a manger, and die in the most atrocious and painful way imaginable.
