His training therefore took place in a context that, in opposition to the traditionalism of the twentieth century, foresaw a return to the avant-garde, particularly the expressionist language. Consistent with this approach, Alberto Casarotti's painting involves a highly synthesised approach to his subjects. They are emptied of their materiality, and what emerges is their purest essence, determined by the strength of color and the painterly gesture. The objects, therefore, reduced to the essential in a two-dimensional space, are evoked through a highly fluid style, typical of Corrente's expressionist reinterpretation, in a representation vibrant with vital energy. This energy determines the object's deformations and folds, forcing the sensitive element to seek a more decisive and vigorous expressiveness. The application of color follows the same lines; the brushstrokes are forceful, almost gestural, confirming the expressionistic vigor. The sensory elements dissolve in the force of color, and object and space merge into one in a powerfully evocative image.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\n \u003cp\u003eAlberto Casarotti was born in Verona in 1906 and passed away in Montalto di Rivoli in 1991. His artistic training took place in Milan, where, in the 1930s, he frequented Arturo Martini, Carrà, Manzù, De Chirico, and the other artists who exhibited at the Il Milione gallery. A pivotal moment was 1942, when the painter, after a period at the Brera Academy, became involved with the \"Corrente\" group and befriended Renato Birolli. With his first official exhibition, in 1945, at the Santa Redegonda gallery, Casarotti immediately achieved public and critical acclaim.
