andrea-spuntarelli
Andrea Spuntarelli - Sunset

The work is an abstract composition. "Abstract" derives from the Latin term "abstrahere," which means to extract or draw out. The process of abstraction, in fact, consists of eliminating the particular and individual aspects of an object to derive a universal concept. From Kandinsky to Mondrian, from Pollock to Mirò, many painters have pushed the process of abstraction to the limit in their works, paradoxically creating pure forms and pure colors that do not exist in nature, or translating their emotions and instincts into images.

Andrea Spuntarelli's pictorial research is based on a highly abstract process of forms, grounded in the perception of sounds, voices, and colors. This is why the results of his pictorial work are often heterogeneous, as Andrea begins with a theme, but the expressive developments, guided by his profound and refined sensibility, can be unpredictable. In some cases, he adheres more closely to a formal figurative framework, transfiguring it through the synthesis achieved by sensory perception. In other cases, however, he creates concrete forms that virtually do not exist in nature, leading him to explore dimensions beyond our own. Amid this variety of outcomes and research, however, the artist's language remains consistent, grounded in a solid abstract-expressionist foundation. The gestural component, which also relies on tactile interventions, is very important and, in an elaborate pictorial work, can emerge in large, energetic strokes or more calligraphic, symbolic interventions. From a chromatic point of view, the use of colors with a strong emotional and spiritual value falls within the Expressionist line, in a balanced dialogue between shades sought in the general economy of the work.

Andrea Spuntarelli was born in Tivoli in 2000 and lives and works in Guidonia Montecchio. He is a young artist full of passion and talent, guided by his refined sensorial aptitude. He initially devoted himself to studying the piano, but his true passion is painting, which, however, also stems from musical inspiration. In his pictorial production, he has adopted an abstract-inspired language, which he interprets with his own original flair. Some of his works are exhibited at the "La Stanza dell'Arte" gallery in Guidonia, and he plans to open his own studio in the future.
