However, when an artist's goal is to represent an object that resonates with phenomenal reality but is also charged with hidden and symbolic meaning, this boundary can become blurred. Symbolism and Expressionism are emblematic stylistic movements in their conceptual interpretation of reality, with an iconic rendering of images and a symbolic interpretation in the use of color. In Angela Occhipinti's paintings, abstract and figurative blend almost seamlessly, in a highly original aesthetic grounded in line.

This work is part of a series by artist Angela Occhipinti in which the composition is resolved through a highly abstract process of the subject. There is a remarkable synthesis of sensory data that empties the objects of their volume, transforming them into pure perceptual vibrations. Thus, the artist constructs the figuration with a broad, white line that outlines the structures in a nervous, quivering manner. Then, the dense and agitated application of color completes the work, making everything within the composition extremely dynamic and animated. In these works, the artist focuses her research on two-tone compositions, in which the white line takes on maximum prominence against the black space.

Angela Occhipinti was born in Perugia and lives and works in Milan.
