Light thus reverberates on objects, but without interfering with the precise description of reality, and the artist can modulate the effects of the atmosphere on things with great naturalness. Saliola's sincere realism is also expressed in his choice of a distinctly photographic compositional structure. The framing of his views is always unusual, almost casual. Initially an assistant at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, he then directed the Tempo Gallery until he decided to dedicate himself to painting. In 1972, he began an intense series of solo exhibitions showcasing his pictorial cycles (family groups, interiors, gardens, landscapes).
