For this reason, the panel exhibits a marked anti-naturalism, still reminiscent of the Middle Ages. The conception of space is not rational, there are no regular proportions, and the subjects appear very elongated. The facial features are generalized, and the gazes are lost in contemplation of the divine. These are all elements that contribute to the work's transcendent aura.
