His works, in fact, consist of images of a stark realism, whose juxtaposition and superimposition provoke in the viewer a sense of unease and a reflection on the society we live in. Peter Sorge's aesthetic essentially juxtaposes human anatomical parts with weapons and instruments of war, in a crude yet lucid representation of hatred and violence. The two works are part of the Heisser Sommer series.\n\r \nPeter Sorge's formal language is truly fascinating and original. Like the photorealists, he advocates a reality rendered objectively and in detail. The compositions themselves are conceived as photomontages, in which the subjects chosen by the artist appear divided into panels. What's unique is that Sorge himself questions this photographic reality by representing it as if it were a drawing. The use of a highly graphic technique, based on extremely fine and detailed hatching, insinuates doubt about the very objective reality the artist seeks to represent.\n\r \nThe graphic work has been attributed to Peter Sorge, born in 1937 and died in 2000, one of the most important exponents of German New Realism, known primarily for his drawings and his graphic and printmaking work. His style can be defined as \"critical realism\" in the sense that he depicted the world like a photographic reporter, creating enlargements and photomontages, and laying out his works like magazines.
