First, he begins with a synthesis of forms that is undoubtedly inspired by the Expressionist avant-garde. The facial features are reduced to the essential, in this case outlined by a sinuous black outline. The figure thus takes on a highly iconic and powerfully symbolic character. This peculiarity is accentuated by the mysterious and enigmatic eyes, colored blue and black. In 1941, Elio Vittorini recognized his talent and curated his first solo exhibition. All his work is characterized by an expressionist synthesis combined with a reflection on Cubist deconstruction.
