It consists of compositions of inanimate subjects, most often flowers or fruit. While initially it was an opportunity for painters to attempt a photographic reproduction of reality, with contemporary art the "Still Life" also becomes a way of interpreting reality, as it did for the Cubists or Giorgio Morandi.

Bruno Stobbione's style in his still lifes seems to tend toward surrealism in composition and hyperrealism in form. Indeed, one notices a desire to objectively convey the elements of his bizarre pastiches onto the canvas with cold lucidity. Stobbione possesses a remarkable technique, reminiscent of Flemish painting, in the precision with which he reproduces various materials and the effects of light falling on them. Despite his objective clarity and while avoiding overly accentuated atmospheric effects, Bruno Stobbione's technique is capable of naturally inserting objects into space, with a continuity and indefiniteness of contours.

Bruno Stobbione was born in Genoa, studied at the Art School, and graduated from the Ligurian Academy of Fine Arts.
