This is the impression given by some of Nicola Busi's most recent works. The young artist, born in Commessaggio in 1990, narrates a world of fantasy and abstract expressiveness that transports us and stimulates our imagination, inviting us to take new, unexpected paths. A restless soul and constant traveler, he took his first steps as an artist during a long stay in Australia. He left in 2015 to work Down Under, and lacking other stimuli, he playfully began drawing with pencils and pens. Thus, his first works were linear, comic-like, humorous black-and-white vignettes, but from then on, he forged ahead with strength and propulsion, the color that unleashes a new spirit, full of joy, almost childlike, telling a story of spiritual freedom. He has now reached an impulsive abstraction, combining almost violent colors with a quest for fantasy. He approaches the canvas like children approach clouds in the sky. Just as they, lying in the summer meadow, see figures in the passing clouds, he sees them in his fields of color, thus giving them a face, a personality. He thus moves around the painting with a 360° approach, rotating it to constantly receive new impulses that stimulate the imagination.
