However, as we can see in this painting, which features a fairly recurring pattern in this artist's work (the diagonal compositional cut), Corticelli's ability to synthesize goes even beyond Impressionism, reaching a level of abstraction, determined precisely by his cursive brushstroke, that borders on Expressionism.
