Daniele Fissore will be remembered above all as a painter of \"greens,\" where the depiction of the golf course becomes a stimulating pretext for a study of space and landscape. In this work, too, we see how landscape is an important component for Daniele Fissore, determining the entire composition. It features lush, exotic vegetation that almost prefigures the Symbolist exaltation of uncontaminated worlds and Gauguin-esque primitive civilizations. The presence of the sword-wielding colossus on the left also confirms this interpretation: we find ourselves in a distant land in the presence of a civilization whose values ​​are pure and uncontaminated. However, Daniele Fissore's depiction of nature in this painting goes beyond nature itself. There's an illusory and provocative ostentation in its perfection, in its lush greenness and plastically geometric form. All this leads us to a type of hyperrealistic simplification, refined in its expressiveness, reminiscent of the instinctiveness of Douanier Rousseau and then, in a more deliberate manner, the dreamlike dimensions evoked by the Surrealists. It's obvious that such a complex iconographic apparatus must be supported by an excellent pictorial technique, which Daniele Fissore already demonstrates in this early work. In the composition of the painting, it's above all the artist's drawing ability that emerges in a complex structure of lines and shapes like this.
