The naturalistic depiction of landscape has been a major aspiration for artists of every era. Each historical period has offered its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its depiction: first with an exploration of space, through Brunelleschi's perspective in the early Renaissance; then with atmospheric rendering in the sixteenth century; and finally with the depiction of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism.\u003cbr\u003e\n \u003cbr\u003e \nThe work highlights Bruno Darzino's post-Impressionist maturity. The composition is entirely constructed through color, and the brushstrokes have a notable structural value. The painter's aim is not to capture the tangible details of the landscape, but to capture its very essence, its substance. To this end, the brushstrokes, rich in texture, intervene, and, despite the simplicity of the representation, break down the space into different planes, recording the vibrations of light and life on the subject. Thus, within a substantially two-dimensional surface, compressed in the foreground, the objects are constructed by the painter with broad, dense brushstrokes. Chromatically, moreover, the entire surface of the work is blended with a unifying palette.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\n \u003cp\u003eBruno Darzino (Oderzo, 1922 - Treviso, 1984) was the nephew of the painter Giacomo Caramel. From his uncle Giacomo, he received his first lessons, studying geometric drawing and perspective, and drawing from life. After attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, the young man was also influenced by his admiration for the Roman master Virgilio Guidi. His exhibitions took place throughout the 1950s and 1960s, primarily in the Veneto region, and particularly in Treviso, where he lived until his death.
