Subsequently, painters, especially the Impressionists, increasingly focused on the floral world as an extraordinary opportunity to capture vibrant colors and light. Thus, flowers began to appear not only in vases, but also immersed in their natural landscape. While initially a pretext for painters to attempt a photographic reproduction of reality, with contemporary art, the subject of flowers also became a way of interpreting reality. In the early stages of his artistic career, Felice Bodei practiced traditional pictorial genres such as still lifes and floral compositions, achieving a perfect rendering of sensory details.

Felice Bodei, in his most figurative phase, is one of those painters who truly achieves a perfect balance between mimesis and lyricism. Indeed, at the heart of his essentially realistic language lies, undoubtedly, a flawless naturalistic rendering of flowers. Felice Bodei stands out for his flawless reproduction of each individual petal, even with a certain plastic consistency and a consequent determination of space within the painting. Likewise, the crystal vase is depicted with its glassy consistency and transparency. At the same time, however, the expressive power of his style lies essentially in the pictorial application. Felice Bodei's brushstrokes are lively, impressionistic in inspiration, ready to capture every single vibration of light and atmosphere on the flowers, the vase, and the water within. Furthermore, the brushstrokes are dense with color, and the palette is always determined by a coherent tonal unity.

Felice Bodei was born in Serle in 1949. At the age of 11, he won first prize in the National Scholastic Competition celebrating the centenary of Italian Unification. His research continues as a self-taught artist. In 1994, Bodei illustrated excerpts from the participation of the Serle guerrilla priest, Don Pietro Boifava, in the 10th Brescia Days. In 1996, for his artistic and cultural commitment, he was awarded the Knighthood of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. In 2007, the Municipality of Rezzato organized a retrospective exhibition, also sponsored by the Brescia Industrial Association, to mark the artist's fortieth anniversary. In 2008, the Municipality of Serle organized a retrospective exhibition with the volume "Portrait of a Village – Faces and Places of Serle in the Works of Felice Bodei." For several years, he has returned to Liguria, capturing the evocative atmosphere of its beautiful landscapes.
