Starting in the 1960s, after pursuing a career as a musician, he devoted himself full-time to painting, experimenting with abstract and surrealist forms until the 1970s. From 1980 onwards, he devoted himself almost exclusively to the Naples of the past, capturing on his canvases the ancient glimpses of Neapolitan daily life, now almost entirely lost.
