In 1950, he attended the Cimabue Academy of Art in Milan. His friendship with journalist and art critic Aurelio Sioli introduced him to the famous Pirovini sisters' dairy and the artistic milieu that thrived there. He began frequenting the Brera district, participating in cultural debate, and associating with the protagonists of the cultural movement later defined as Existential Realism. He made his debut in the 1950s, participating in public and thematic exhibitions, and then holding his first solo exhibition in 1957 in Brescia. He exhibited at the Permanente in Milan in 1958, having been invited to the \"Young Italian Artists\" exhibition, and in 1959, again in Milan, he won the San Fedele Prize.
