giulio-telarico-senza-titolo
Giulio Telarico - Untitled

The subject's depiction draws inspiration from hyperrealist currents. Hyperrealism aims for a completely objective representation of reality: the artist's desire is to reproduce what he sees without any interpretation. In this sense, the hyperrealist aesthetic also constitutes a paradox, often consciously sought by artists. Indeed, thanks in part to the use of highly aggressive techniques, inspired by the world of advertising, and the use of bright color palettes, a rendering of the naturalistic element is achieved that is so pure as to appear illusory, deliberately fake.

In this graphic work, Giulio Telarico fully embraces a hyperrealist aesthetic. This can be discerned, first and foremost, in the precision with which every detail is faithfully reproduced on the painted surface with a cold objectivity. Furthermore, the scene's composition is photographic, reflecting modern image reproduction techniques. Above all, the execution is based on a hyperrealistic language. There is no pictorialism, no atmospheric effects to indicate the fusion between subject and space. Everything is illuminated by a uniform light that unifies the work in a desire for pure objectivity.

Giulio Telarico was born in Cosenza in 1949.
