The Madonna and Child group is crafted with a high degree of abstraction. The figures are frozen in a hieratic stillness and have a supernatural appearance. The Madonna's facial features are particularly oversized, and her large eyes reflect her divine nature. The composition is characterized by accentuated linearity with a broken rhythm.
