His work, in fact, is not a sterile, self-serving citation, but a new contextualization informed by a modern sensibility. In this silkscreen, for example, we see how the starting point is ancient engravings, yet the composition is crafted with a more synthetic style, born of a contemporary expressiveness.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\n \u003cp\u003eIlario Fioravanti was born in Cesena in 1922 and passed away in Savignano sul Rubicone in 2012. He became an architect in 1949 and is a renowned sculptor both nationally and internationally. Among Fioravanti's most important works are the new Palazzo Almerici in Cesena, seventeen churches between Cesena and Rimini; the Benedictine Monastery in Cesena; the middle schools in Longiano and Mercato Saraceno; the hospital in Mercato Saraceno; the Baths of Santa Agnese in Bagno di Romagna; and the church of the Madonna del Torrione in Ravenna, located on the bed of the Montone Abbandonato River. Among his works are the portal of Cesena Cathedral, the Nativity Scene, the Lamentation over the Body of Christ in Longiano, and the Lay Lamentation in Sorrivoli. Then there's the Resistance in Cesena, the ossuary crypt beneath the church in the Cesena cemetery, the cemetery expansion, and the sculptures on the façade; the War Memorial in Sorbano; and the statue of Medea Ferretti Malatesta.
