These characteristics are found in the historical avant-garde movements of expressionism, such as Fauvism and the Die Brücke movement in Germany. Thus, Skerly's figurative work also seeks to forcefully express the primary values ​​of simple yet intense existences. He does so with a highly energetic and lively line that synthesizes the figures according to a rhythm of broken lines.
