The naturalistic depiction of landscape has been a major aspiration for artists of every era. Each historical period has offered its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its depiction: first with an exploration of space, through Brunelleschi's perspective in the early Renaissance; then with atmospheric rendering in the sixteenth century; and finally with the depiction of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism.

Painter Laura Vitali, as we can see from this work, demonstrates her own personal lyricism of landscape, expressed through a pictorial language primarily based on color. An expert in watercolor, this artist's technique is particularly distinctive, using broad, very diluted brushstrokes. In this way, Laura Vitali entrusts her expressiveness to transparent glazes onto which she can transfer all the reflections of light and water. The surface of the sea, in fact, resembles a mirrored sheet absorbing luminous vibrations. Laura Vitali's touch, moreover, is powerfully synthetic, capable of generating a form, an object, with a simple brushstroke.

Laura Vitali lives and works in Bolzano Vicentino.
