In this work, for example, he sets aside his lyrical landscapes and sensual female figures to create a composition with a surreal feel. The composition is extremely bold, with the glimpse of the man in flight and the diagonal cut that draws the eye into a dizzying depth. A swirling movement begins from the center, initiated by the flags and echoed by the atmosphere. The composition's strong dynamism is further enhanced by the complex pictorial layering, which constructs the space with broad strokes of color as if it were a mosaic.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003eLello M. Barresi was born in Palermo in 1932. An artist with an academic background, he was initially a student of Carrà. For a decade, he lived in Southeast Asia, where he taught Western art history and, on behalf of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, performed diplomatic duties for the Italian Cultural Institute in Jakarta. From 1954, he devoted himself primarily to painting, initially focusing on composition and figuration. From 1970, his focus shifted to the female figure.
