The surface lacks compositional depth, but distance is perceived through complex chromatic transitions. Even objects are pure concentrations of color. Individual brushstrokes delineate the shape of a house or a tree. Everything is resolved through a layering process in which the brushstrokes, arranged on different planes, create a complex surface. The color is composed of transparent glazes and gives the subject a certain evanescence that makes it more poetic.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\n \u003cp\u003eLeonardo De Magistris was a Roman painter, born in 1933 and died in 2010. He was one of the founders of the Via Margutta painters' association and the Alternativa 94 association. De Magistris lived in a villa in Formello, immersed in the Roman countryside, which he loved to paint and reproduce in his paintings.
