He distorts his subjects by elongating them, subverts the concept of space, and plays with the rules by compressing the composition. The stereotypical image thus becomes a fundamental element within the composition's economy, drawing inspiration from African tribal culture.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\n \u003cp\u003eGeorge Lilanga (Kikwetu, 1934 – Dar es Salaam, 2005). Trained at the Tingatinga school of painting in Dar es Salaam, he is also known internationally for his distinctive pictorial style, characterized by brightly colored figures with sharp, dynamic, and caricatural contours. His works were exhibited extensively in many countries and he was recognized as one of Africa's greatest artists, probably the greatest artist.\u003cbr\u003e\n Contemporary African.
