Portraiture is, first and foremost, a description of the subject depicted, an attempt to capture their physiognomy and individual characteristics truthfully and naturally. With the progressive evolution of artistic research, the physiognomic description of the subject has also been accompanied by a psychological one. Therefore, over the centuries, portraiture has also become a means of introspective investigation of the subject, their character, and their state of mind. The processes of abstraction brought about by contemporary art have contributed to this type of investigation.\n\r \nThe work demonstrates how Mario Donizetti also embraced that phase of objective realism, inspired by the 15th-century pictorial tradition, which also featured other artists such as Gregorio Sciltian and the Bueno brothers. In this portrait, Donizetti places a strong emphasis on the exaltation of the figure's plastic qualities. The painter emphasizes the volumes, emphasizes them with the drawing, and highlights them with even lighting throughout the composition. In this way, the surfaces appear to be made of some precious, shiny material. Donizetti, precisely for the purpose of fully exalting plasticity, eliminates any pictorial effect, achieving a style that can be described as hyperrealist, even though the figure maintains a very high degree of naturalism, thanks to the softness of his touch.\n\r \nMario Donizetti was born in Bergamo in 1932. He is considered one of the most important exponents of realist art, internationally renowned for the spirit of his artistic production, which draws on models and techniques of the past and contextualizes them in the present. Many famous people have posed for his works, including Marta Abba, Jean Louis Barrault, Valentina Cortese, Rossella Falk, Giorgio Albertazzi, Vittorio Gassman, Marcel Marceau, Rudolph Nureyev, and Gianandrea Gavazzeni. In 1983, the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana in Milan honored him with a retrospective exhibition. His frescoes are in the Abbey of Pontida, and a Crucifixion is housed in the Museum of the Treasury of St. Peter's in the Vatican. Several of his portraits have been published in Time magazine.\u003c\/a\u003e","brand":"Ventura Rosa 1800 abbassata a 1000€","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":56218639892866,"sku":"RVEN019","price":0.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0909\/7065\/3058\/files\/DONIZETTI-GAIA-RITRATTO-BORINA.jpg?v=1768475145","url":"https:\/\/cjfh11-ee.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/mario-donizetti-costanza","provider":"Venderequadri","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
