The naturalistic depiction of landscape has been an artist's aspiration throughout the centuries. Each historical period has offered its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its depiction: first with an exploration of space, through Brunelleschi's perspective in the early Renaissance, then with atmospheric rendering in the sixteenth century, up until the depiction of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism.

Michele Loconsole's artistic practice, especially in his landscape paintings, draws heavily from a purity of line and a geometric rationalism that abstracts the perceptible world into a decidedly metaphysical vision. Loconsole incorporates this purity and essentiality of lines and volumes into his own original vision, informed by a contemporary sensibility. His works, therefore, heighten the sense of abstraction, as well as the expressive value and complexity of his pictorial approach. This is evident in the painter's palette, which favors bold polychromes that detach themselves from phenomenological reality to acquire a definitively spiritual value.

Michele Loconsole was born in 1948 in Bari, where he lives and works. From a young age, he showed a strong inclination for drawing, then painting, highlighting his creative talents. However, it was in the 1980s that he began his professional artistic career, participating in numerous art exhibitions and increasingly winning praise from critics and the public. Since then, he has garnered numerous regional and national awards and recognitions. His works are included in public and private collections.
