The naturalistic depiction of landscape has been a major aspiration for artists of every era. Each historical period has offered its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its depiction: first with an exploration of space, through Brunelleschi's perspective in the early Renaissance; then with atmospheric rendering in the 16th century; and finally with the depiction of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism. The artist Millo Bortoluzzi, in his pictorial production, has always focused on classical and traditional subjects, such as landscapes and still lifes, always imbuing them with his quest for pure painting, which we can also see in this work.

Even in his silkscreen work, the fundamental characteristics of Millo Bortoluzzi's pictorial style persist: the reconstruction of phenomenal reality according to a harmonious ideal of purity. Compared to his oil paintings, however, this artist's graphic work further accentuates the presence of light that pervades all his works. As we can see, the rapid technique and diluted color favor the tendency to dissolve objects in the light, which in this landscape becomes dazzling. Nonetheless, with his customary compositional direction, the painter arranging elements according to a rational and orderly vision of reality. Furthermore, it is noteworthy how, even in a synthetic landscape construction, Bortoluzzi is adept at capturing the presence of birds in flight with great descriptive vivacity.

Millo Bortoluzzi Junior, born in Dolo in 1938 and who passed away in Padua in 2012, was the grandson of the famous landscape artist Millo Bortoluzzi Senior.
