The son of an artist, he learned the technique from his father Basilio, together with his brother Tommaso. During the First World War, he was called up for military service, bringing with him the tools of the trade and documenting military life with his brushes (some works are kept at the Museum of the Renaissance). After the war, he settled in Milan and devoted himself to ceramics, \u003cstrong\u003elithography\u003c\/strong\u003e , watercolor, and \u003cstrong\u003eoil painting\u003c\/strong\u003e .
