The composition is entirely constructed through color, and the brushstrokes have a notable structural value. The painter's aim is not to capture the tangible details of the landscape, but to capture its very essence, its substance. To this end, the brushstrokes, rich in texture, intervene, which, despite the essentiality of the representation, breaks down the space into different planes, recording the vibrations of light and life on the subject. Thus, on a substantially two-dimensional surface, squashed in the foreground, the objects are constructed by the painter with large, dense brush strokes, and the cultivated fields are structured according to geometric principles inspired by Cézanne.
