At the age of 17, he left the family home and moved to Ferrara, where for several years he alternated studies with sports. His lifelong interest in art—he graduated from the Art Institute—emerged in the 1980s when, upon returning to Friuli, he connected with Luciano Chinese's Nuovo Spazio gallery and the art critic Paolo Rizzi, who would follow him until his death in 2006.\n His artistic breakthrough, however, came with his frequent visits to the studio of Maestro Giuseppe Zigaina.
