A painter with a very strong decorative sense, he was probably the most Mannerist of the leading artists of the Livorno Group, and for this reason, during his lifetime, he did not receive the critical acclaim that some of his most important works perhaps deserved. Renucci enjoyed commercial and market success in Tuscany, and especially in Livorno, where he was appreciated for the realism of his lucid compositions.
