The saint's life is illustrated in the three panels, in three episodes from his youth: the birth of St. Nicholas, his calling, the rescue of a cargo of grain for the city of Myra, and the miraculous rescue of a ship from a shipwreck. This last scene appears to be the scene of our reproduction. According to tradition, St. Nicholas performed the miracle of saving a ship from a shipwreck during its voyage to Jerusalem. A violent storm struck the vessel. The desperate sailors invoked the help of St. Nicholas, who was known for his miraculous powers. In answer to their prayers, St. Nicholas knelt and prayed fervently. His faith calmed the storm.\r \n\nThe work's style is characterized by elegant lines, from which luminous colors emerge, with extraordinary attention to pictorial detail. The Gothic tradition is juxtaposed with Renaissance innovations, in which the work's enduring sense is one of devotion and spirituality. A sense of serenity pervades the work, as if the storm had been left behind or was about to arrive, recognizing in this sense rationality and the moment before or after the drama.\n\r \nGuido di Pietro, known as Fra Giovanni da Fiesole, commonly known as Fra Angelico, was one of the most illustrious painters of the Italian High Renaissance. Born around 1395 near Vicchio, Tuscany, he entered the Dominican Order around 1417, taking the name Fra Giovanni. His religious vocation profoundly influenced his art, making him a pioneer in the creation of sacred artworks that combined spirituality and aesthetic beauty. His most famous works were created primarily for Dominican convents and churches. Among these are the Cappella degli Angeli at the Convent of San Marco in Florence, which depicts biblical scenes and saints; the Annunciation at the Museo dell'Opera di San Giovanni in Florence, which displays elegant and natural composition and use of color; and the Transit of Saint John the Baptist at the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo in Florence, a work that depicts spiritual transition with narrative and symbolic mastery.\n\n","brand":"Turiano Antonio (4500 a 3500","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":56219481997698,"sku":"ATUR002","price":0.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0909\/7065\/3058\/files\/fronte-2-riga-bis.jpg?v=1768481322","url":"https:\/\/cjfh11-ee.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/riproduzione-de-storie-di-san-nicola-di-bari-guido-di-pietro-detto-beato-angelico","provider":"Venderequadri","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
