However, Emblema's artistic approach remains consistent, even in his interpretation of abstraction. The circle is defined in a crude manner, following an almost Brutalist aesthetic. Within the circle, the artist's gestures prevail, denser and more animated than Emblema's usual calligraphic interventions. The importance of material remains constant, in the use of earth, and of color, distributed according to carefully studied balances.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\n \u003cp\u003eSalvatore Emblema (1929-2006). He trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. His artistic research was influenced by Spatialism, in the intervention of reality into the artwork and the use of raw materials such as clay and canvas.
