For this reason, the figure undergoes unnaturalistic deformations, which nevertheless play a fundamental role in its expression. Especially when depicting female figures, Fiume tends to inflate volumes and exaggerate plasticity. All this is to the detriment of physiognomic and realistic details, which are of no interest to the artist. In this way, he creates a synthetic figure, with an archaic and evocative expressive power.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\n \u003cp\u003eSalvatore Fiume was born in 1915 in Comiso and passed away in Milan in 1997. In addition to being a painter and sculptor, he was also an architect. His career as a painter focused on a reinterpretation of classicism, particularly Renaissance painting and Piero della Francesca.
