tullio-bacchetta
Tullio Bacchetta - Madonna with Baby Jesus

The Madonna and Child is probably one of the most popular iconographies in the history of both Western and Eastern art. The Madonna and Child appears since the dawn of medieval painting and remained a constant subject as long as religious themes dominated artistic production (that is, until the 19th century, when themes inspired by everyday life began to be introduced). In this painting, Tullio Bacchetta creates a more intimate variation of the subject. Instead of the traditional iconography that exalts the divine nature of the Madonna and Child, the artist has created a domestic image, where the sacred reference is provided only by the angelic vision in the background.

The style of artist Tullio Bacchetta is essentially based on a classical and traditional conception of painting. The composition of his works is guided by carefully calibrated relationships of harmony and balance, aiming to achieve unity and coherence in the final result. His figurative language always strives for a perfect naturalistic rendering in the description of his subjects and in the composition of his landscapes. However, this painter's descriptive rigor is tempered by a vibrant, and in some cases even impressionistic, pictorial style. Thus, Bacchetta's works, while maintaining clarity of representation, also possess a distinctive freshness and immediacy. His use of light is highly effective, creating a perfect interplay of shadows and reflections on the surfaces. His palette always focuses on vibrant, brilliant colors.

Tullio Bacchetta was born in Crema on July 8, 1892, and died in Altofonte in 1975. A student of his uncle Angelo Bacchetta, he attended the Brera Academy of Fine Arts for three years under the guidance of Professor Mario Chiodo Grandi. He moved to France and lived there for a long time, developing a vibrant artistic career. He held numerous solo exhibitions, followed by others in Italy after his permanent return. His most recurrent pictorial expressions are landscapes, still lifes, animals, and, above all, portraits.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0909/7065/3058/files/9b860d2b-cff5-475b-b414-c03c7f8874d3-copia.jpg?v=1768469097
