We are faced with a countryside landscape. In the vast expanse, a stream leads the eye toward a cluster of farmhouses in the background. A group of people approaches the village, and the device of the figures seen from behind helps the viewer identify with these characters, as if we too could enter this bucolic world. For us, A. Giordano remains an anonymous twentieth-century artist. Indeed, we can assume he was active in the second half of the century. Some believe his name is Antonio Giordano, but in fact, there's no concrete evidence for this name either. However, based on the various paintings bearing the same signature, we can say his primary subject matter is landscapes. He creates them with a fluid, rapid brushstroke, then accentuates the whole with subtle yet strategic highlights to give the painting dimension.
