We are faced with a landscape subject. Landscapes have long been a place where painters can experiment with perspective, space, and atmospheric rendering, seeking to give their own interpretation of atmospheric events. In this case, we are faced with a road in the foreground, with a single person walking along it. We see this person from behind; we don't know if the only farmhouse we see is their destination. Overall, the whole scene conveys a melancholic feeling. We identify with the character as they walk. Furthermore, the atmosphere is dark, as if a storm were brewing.

A. Giordano's painting is distinguished by his fluid, liquid brushwork. He doesn't need to render his subject in detail, but rather creates a whole with a few expertly applied touches. He concludes his pictorial process with the application of fine white brushstrokes that create relief and dimension, as well as acting as a touch of light.

For us, A. Giordano remains an anonymous twentieth-century artist. Indeed, we can assume he was active in the second half of the century. His works are offered by various galleries, but to date, no one has been able to identify him. Some believe his name is Antonio Giordano, but in fact, there's no concrete evidence for this name either. However, based on the various paintings bearing the same signature, we can say his primary subject matter is landscapes. He creates them with a fluid, rapid brushstroke, then accentuates the whole with subtle yet strategic highlights to give the painting dimension.
