Description of the work
Description of the work
Landscape has always been a central theme in artistic research, both as a setting, as a backdrop, and as a subject itself. The naturalistic depiction of landscape has been an artist's aspiration throughout the centuries. Each historical period has offered its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its depiction: first with an exploration of space, through Brunelleschi's perspective in the early Renaissance, then with atmospheric rendering in the sixteenth century, up until the depiction of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism.
The execution of this landscape demonstrates high technical quality. The view is constructed entirely through color, in a marked pictorial synthesis of objects. The artist is capable, with simple gestures, a few brush strokes, of giving form to a ruin or vegetation. For this reason, the quality of the color is also very important, as it is very dense and capable of capturing all the luminous vibrations of the depicted landscape. Overall, the work has a strong sense of freshness and immediacy.
A. Ramadin is undoubtedly a painter endowed with excellent technical skills. His style, based entirely on a rapid and immediate pictorial gesture and the construction of the image through color, demonstrates a high-quality technical training based on classical and traditional principles.
