Description of the work
Description of the work
Adele Ceraudo , born in Cosenza but now living in Rome, is known to the public as LADY BIC, thanks to her ability to capture the beauty and strength of women, entirely with the BIC pen, which she has been drawing with since she was a child, even before she could write. In her creative process, the artist typically uses multiple photographs, taken by professional photographers under her direction, from which she selects the perfect one to use as a source of inspiration. She has been working for years and is recognized, in Italy and abroad, published and invited by academies of fine arts and universities, for her highly particular and unique "modus operandi," in which she uses herself as a medium to express the poetry and energy of women. This technique led her to exhibit at the 2011 Venice Biennale and at subsequent major events. She is a performer and interpreter, as well as a creator and designer, collaborating with internationally renowned photographers as well as emerging young artists.
For several years, her attention has been focused on reinterpreting the great masters of Italian art, from Michelangelo to Leonardo, Caravaggio, and Bernini, with a contemporary but especially feminine twist, combining photography, pen and ink drawing, and high-tech. Only in exceptional cases does she lend her hand to creating portraits of special women. A tribute to female figures who have achieved significant goals in various fields. Ceraudo regularly embraces and supports, through her work, social causes related to women and beyond. She lives and works in Rome, where she draws continuously from the early hours of the morning in her studio located in the heart of the city, in the charming Trastevere district.
