Description of the work
Description of the work
The urban landscape was already a popular subject in the Middle Ages and the Modern Era, but predominantly in an idealized manner. Scenes of city life became typical themes with a more realistic interpretation starting in the 19th century. It's worth remembering how, immediately following the realist movements of the 19th century, the Impressionists also placed great emphasis on the everyday, on everyday life, with a certain predilection, however, for the frenetic pace of the city, the crowds, the traffic, and typically bourgeois settings. In this view, the candid, everyday dimension of a small village prevails.
The artist Agostino Pannone, in his landscape work, stands out for his works in which he seeks out characteristic views and scenes, imbued with a distinctive lyricism. Hence his penchant for picturesque views and evocative framing. Formally, this translates into an impressionistic, lively and dynamic style, ensuring freshness and immediacy of execution. His brushstrokes, therefore, are characterized by a remarkably cursive touch, composed of sudden flickers that effectively capture the vibrations of light on objects. The entire composition is imbued with a calm sentimentality and a freshness deriving from the artist's technical prowess.
The artist Agostino Pannone is a painter who devotes himself primarily to classical and traditional genres such as landscape painting and still life, dividing his poetics between a lyrical vision of phenomenal reality and an investigation of plastic values.
