Description of the work
Description of the work
The human figure has always been at the center of artistic research. Since the classical age, the naturalistic rendering of human anatomy has been a primary goal of painters and sculptors throughout history. The representation of the nude is the ultimate expression of this aspiration, pervasive across all eras and stylistic trends. Indeed, in addition to the naturalistic interpretations of the Renaissance and various classicisms, which aimed for a truthful and detailed representation of the human body, the nude has also been a central theme in the new aesthetic concepts brought about by the historical avant-garde movements, such as Cubism, Expressionism, and Surrealism.
The work was created using a highly original technique developed by Alberto Frisoni himself: typewriting. The figure was created using blue and red typewriter ribbon. This creates a texture on the surface that gives the work a unique mechanical and rationalistic aesthetic. Above this surface, however, Alberto Frisoni's pictorial flair unfolds, possessing a remarkable fluidity of touch. He is capable of rendering the female figure with remarkable naturalness, imbuing it with plasticity. The forms are blurred in space, and the subject is brought to life by subtle shading.
Alberto Frisoni was born in Fano in 1917, but his painting career was primarily spent in Turin. His paintings have always been highly acclaimed by critics and the public, and his works, exhibited at both national and international exhibitions, have received numerous awards. Alberto Frisoni was a member of important cultural associations such as the Promotrice di Belle Arti di Torino, the Accademia Tiberina, and the Legion d'Oro. His works are held in important public and private collections.
