Alberto Sughi - Woman's Face

Alberto Sughi (Cesena 1928 – Bologna 2012), after a self-taught education and early success, proceeded in his career through thematic cycles: first the so-called “Green Paintings”, dedicated to the relationship between man and nature (1971-1973); then “The Dinner” (1975-1976) and “Imagination and Memory of the Family”; in 1985 he began with the series “The Evening or Reflection”, while the most recent, with large-scale paintings, is “Notturno”. Sughi has participated in all the most important contemporary art exhibitions, from the Venice International Art Biennale to the Rome Quadrennial, as well as numerous exhibitions abroad that have presented the events of Italian art from the 1970s to the present. Italian and foreign museums have dedicated large anthologies to him. Giorgio Napolitano remembers him with these words: “
