Landscape has always been a central theme in artistic research, both as a setting, as a backdrop, and as a subject itself. The naturalistic depiction of landscape has always been an artist's aspiration. In this silkscreen, we note a more intense use of color, unlike Riso's usual landscapes, where white (the walls reflecting the sunlight) predominates. This does not prevent the artist from conveying the warmth of his homeland through the use of vibrant, luminous colors.

Aldo Riso, born in Santa Maria di Leuca in 1928 and passed away in Rome in 2008, was an artist from Puglia who made his homeland his favorite subject, portraying it with a refined watercolor technique. This earned him extraordinary popularity. His career began with his first exhibition in 1956, and he subsequently exhibited his works not only in Italy but also in Cologne, Berlin, Vienna, Paris, Philadelphia, Belgrade, Athens, Barcelona, ​​Madrid, Montreal, Toronto, New York, Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Asuncion, and South Africa.
