Nannoni is a keen observer of the world around him. His works often feature both natural and urban landscapes. In this case, he presents us with a landscape of architectural ruins. All this reinforces the dynamism but also the hermeticism of the scenes. He uses his usual palette, with impastos tending toward gray and black, transcribing the landscape in monochrome.

Alfredo Nannoni was born in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa in 1945. His works are held in important collections both in Italy and abroad. He has exhibited his paintings in numerous shows. Nannoni specializes in battle scenes, which he always interprets with a highly personal style that elegantly and dynamically highlights the drama of wartime events.
