Amoruso - Horses

A noble animal, a symbol of beauty and harmony, the horse has repeatedly been a prominent subject in the history of art. Since the fourteenth century, its presence has always been obligatory in battle scenes and equestrian monuments, and painters have always found it a challenge to depict it with anatomical precision and naturalistic rendering.

Amoruso's work is characterized by an almost exaggerated dynamism. The vigorous movement and strength of the animals translate into an expressionist fervor that transforms the entire composition into a vortex of dynamic rhythms. Formally, the dynamism is also enhanced through a pronounced pictorialism that breaks down the forms. Chromatically, the colors focus on brown and fiery hues.

As we can see from this work, the artist Amoruso has a rather experimental approach to the pictorial image. Although he uses a substantially figurative language, he applies deformations to reality for expressive purposes.
