The afternoon light, people strolling, people gathering... the beauty of being together, of sharing...
The canal water is enriched by the depth of the water and the reflections of the late afternoon lights, a boat slides along the canal, the glare of the lights of the shops and street lamps illuminates details of the buildings.
People spend their time moving and conversing pleasantly. I wanted to convey a bucolic image of our times...
The brushstrokes are at times intense; dotted to highlight the reflections of the light, hinted at to underscore the passage of time.
The acrylics, darker for the depths of the water, blend Prussian blue with sienna to increase depth, contrasting with the white, orange, and yellow tones. Everything is framed by the blue and purple hues of the sky and the greens of the treetops.
