Formally, too, Andrea Quarto's works lean toward a surrealist aesthetic, with his deliberately illusory depiction of palm trees and the excessive rationalism of urban agglomerations rendered in pure geometric solids.

Andrea Quarto was born in Lucca in 1959. At the age of twenty-six, he crossed the Sahara Desert. His works feature lush vegetation bursting out of the sand. The artist's work clearly reveals a personal, neo-naturalistic style. In Andrea Quarto's work, the landscape takes on surreal overtones, and the images acquire a unique sensorial quality.
