The work draws on a pop aesthetic in its use of sign elements and their serial repetition. Pop Art was born in the United States in the second half of the 20th century as an interest/critique by artists of the contemporary "consumer society." All expressions of Pop Art presuppose a sort of double bond with the world of consumerism and the mass media. On the one hand, the artwork is reduced to a mere consumer product, thanks to the use of advertising language in the works and their serial reproduction through mechanical processes. On the other, it is the advertising images and consumer goods themselves that become works of art, as the most genuine and truthful expression of the new society.

As we can see in this work, Andy Fumagalli's artistic language is undoubtedly inspired by Pop Art, with a special predilection for objects. The object itself becomes an icon of an era and a style, its mere presence conjuring up a collective imagination. Formally, the representation tends toward hyperrealism, but with an aggressive technique reminiscent of the world of advertising and comics.

Andy Fumagalli was born in Monza in 1971, where he lives and works. After training at the Academy of Applied Arts and specializing in graphic and advertising arts, he developed an artistic language that brought him international prominence. Andy is also known for founding, along with Morgan, the band Bluvertigo. He is still active in the music world as a producer and soundtrack composer.
