Description of the work
Description of the work
This work is inspired by John Singer Sargent's famous painting "Morning Walk." John Singer Sargent (Florence, January 12, 1856 – London, April 17, 1925) was an American painter, considered one of the most significant portraitists of the nineteenth century.
Compared to the original, Anroby displays his own post-Impressionist interpretation. The composition is entirely compressed into the foreground, without any allowance for spatial depth. The painter's aim is not to reproduce Sargent's work in detail, but to capture its very essence, its substance. To this end, the brushstrokes, rich in texture, intervene, which, despite the essentiality of the representation, enrich the subject, breaking it down into different planes, recording the vibrations of light and life within it.
Anroby, the author of this work, draws on a post-Impressionist pictorial language. The sensory element is completely transcended in a complex conception of artistic creation in which the artist's gestures themselves play a fundamental role.
