Landscape has always been a central theme in artistic research, both as a setting, as a backdrop, and as a subject itself. The naturalistic depiction of landscape has been a major aspiration for artists of every era. Each historical period has offered its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its depiction: first with an exploration of space, through Brunelleschi's perspective in the early Renaissance; then with atmospheric rendering in the sixteenth century; and finally with the depiction of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism.

Aristodemo Capecchi primarily works in landscape painting, with a distinctly post-Impressionist approach, combining a vivid rendering of the subject with a highly lyrical and emotional evocation. Thus, the view is depicted by exploiting the expressive qualities of color in an extremely elaborate application, the true hallmark of this painter. The subject is constructed almost like a mosaic, composed of a dense series of dense brushstrokes, often with a curved shape. In this way, the landscape takes on an almost iridescent hue of color and light, creating a dynamic depiction with a powerful emotional impact.

Aristodemo Capecchi was a renowned painter from Pistoia who lived between 1917 and 2017. He trained in his hometown and exhibited his work both in Italy and abroad. He held solo exhibitions in the United States and Japan, and in cities such as Lugano, Panama, Tokyo, Berlin, Nuremberg, Munich, Vienna, Toronto, Paris, Madrid, Dubrovnik, and Nice. In 2002, an anthology of his work was held in his native Pistoia. Capecchi received over 350 awards during his career. His works are held in both public and private collections.
